The Aurora Lady Houns fell to 1-6 on the season after losses to Mount Vernon (8-1), College Heights (8-1), and Springfield Catholic (6-3).

Aurora No. 1 singles Evelyne Maassen (only one loss in singles competition this season) came away with the lone victory Tuesday against Mount Vernon, 8-0 against Brandee Loftus.

Otherwise, it was all Lady Mountaineers, who defeated Neosho 9-0 on Monday and tallied 17 victories in 18 varsity matches over consecutive days.

No. 2 singles Lauren Sapiens lost 8-1 to Kassidy Anderson, No. 3 Megan Gearhart lost 8-1 to Brook Loftus, No. 4 Olivia Ray lost 8-1 to Jasmine Sapiel, No. 5 Emily Gearhart lost 8-0 to Jessah Anderson, and No. 6 Lilly Sumners lost 8-1 to Sadie Heisner.

In doubles, No. 1 Maassen-Megan Gearhart fell 8-3 to Loftus-Kassidy Anderson, No. 2 Sapiens-Ray lost 8-4 to Loftus-Sapiel, and No. 3 Emily Gearhart-Sumners lost 8-0 to Jessah Anderson-Emilee Smith.

On Monday against College Heights, it was Maassen who earned Aurora’s lone victory, 9-7 over Taylor Dunham in No. 1 singles.

Otherwise, again, it was a struggle for the Lady Houns.

No. 2 Sapiens lost 8-0 to Tessa Greathouse, No. 3 Megan Gearhart fell 8-1 to Grace Sanderson, No. 4 Ray lost 8-2 to Makenna Lewis, No. 5 Emily Gearhart lost 8-0 to Jaira Glaser, and No. 6 Lilly Sumners lost 8-0 to Shayla Cliffman.

No. 1 doubles Maassen-Megan Gearhart lost 8-4 to Dunham-Glaser, No. 2 Sapiens-Ray fell 8-0 to Sanderson-Lewis, and No. 3 Emily Gearhart-Sumners lost 8-0 to Greathouse-Cliffman.

Against Springfield Catholic, No. 1 Maassen continued her winning ways with a 8-0 victory against Emily Franklin. Maassen also contributed to a win in No. 1 doubles, along with partner Megan Gearhart, who upended Emily Franklin and Elizabeth Killion 8-5. Gearhart also prevailed in No. 3 singles 8-5 against Emily Rapp.

No. 2 Sapiens lost 8-1 to Killion, No. 4 Ray lost 8-4 to Emma George, No. 5 Emily Gearhart lost 8-5 to Samantha Fulnecky, and No. 6 Sumners fell 8-0 to Katie Robinson.

In doubles, No. 2 Sapiens-Ray lost 8-3 to Rapp-George and No. 3 Emily Gearhart-Sumners fell 8-1 to Fulnecky-Robinson.
