Aurora sophomore Kaci Singer and junior Aubrey Boatwright finished 1-2 on the girls side in the season-opening Hot Dawg Invitational.
Singer posted a time of 21 minutes, 58.40 seconds with Boatwright not far behind at 22:04.30.
The Lady Houns’ four runners were rounded out by senior Mette Geerling and freshman Destiny Jaramillo, who finished 16th and 19th respectfully in 29:44.10 and 30:12.90.
Springfield Catholic placed first in the team standings with 34 points, followed by Marshfield at 38 and Logan-Rogersville 49.
Springfield Catholic’s Anna Burson finished third in 22:24.60, Marshfield’s Reagan Smith placed fourth in 23:48.10, and Logan-Rogersville’s Lilly Caldwell and Anna Snodderly took fifth and sixth in 25:12.70 and 26:25.50.
On the boys side, Aurora sophomore Gavin Youngblood finished 13th in 21:25.60, then senior William Addison 20th in 22:28.30, freshman Trandan Darnall 28th in 23:47.80, sophomore Angel Cruz 29th in 23:47.90, and sophomore Zac Tackett 30th in 23:48.30.
Logan-Rogersville senior Jay Strausbaugh and junior Landon Hendrickson finished 1-2 with Strausbaugh posting a time of 17:35.40 and Hendrickson joining his teammate as the lone sub-18:00 runners at 17:58.30.
Mount Vernon senior Tristan Gaddis finished third in 18:02.40, Springfield Catholic senior Jack Delvechio fourth in 18:47.60, and Cassville placed five runners in the top 11 finishers.
Aurora returned to action Thursday at Willow Springs.
