The Aurora Lady Houns fell to 1-4 on the season after their 8-1 loss Monday against Greenwood at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield.

Megan Gearhart earned the only victory In No. 3 singles with a 8-3 score against Karson Feuerbacher.

In the rest of singles competition, No. 1 Evelyne Maassen lost 8-2 to Mallory Montgomery, No. 2 Lauren Sapiens lost 8-1 to Abigail Heidemann, No. 4 Olivia Ray lost 8-4 to Keely Roberts, No. 5 Emily Gearhart lost 8-1 to Emma Laney, and No. 6 Lilly Sumners lost 8-4 to Keerti Vittalam.

In doubles, No. 1 Maassen-Megan Gearhart lost 9-7 to Montgomery-Heidemann, No. 2 Sapiens-Ray lost 8-6 to Feuerbacher-Roberts, and No. 3 Emily Gearhart-Sumners lost 8-5 to Laney-Vittalam.

The Lady Houns earned their first victory of the season in their dual Thursday against Reeds Spring at the Ledgestone Country Club in Branson West.

In singles, Aurora took four of its six individual victories against Reeds Spring: No. 1 Maassen prevailed 8-0 against Micayla Kyle, No. 2 Sapiens defeated Julia Wright 9-7, No. 3 Megan Gearhart took down Sophia Brown 8-4, and No. 4 Ray derailed McKenzie Coffelt 8-5. No. 5 Emily Gearhart lost 8-5 to Ashlyn Shafer and No. 6 Sumners lost 8-0 to Olivia Giebler.

No. 1 doubles Maassen-Megan Gearhart upended Kyle-Wright 8-1 and No. 2 Sapiens-Ray defeated Brown-Giebler 8-2, while No. 3 Emily Gearhart-Sumners lost 8-3 to Coffelt-Shafer.

Last Wednesday, Aurora lost 6-3 to Neosho at the Neosho Tennis Courts.

No. 1 singles Maassen defeated Sarah Werner 8-4 and No. 4 Ray defeated Gabrielle McCauley 8-4, but No. 2 Sapiens lost 8-1 to Emily Mitchell, No. 3 Megan Gearhart fell 8-2 to Michelle Lindsay, No. 5 Emily Gearhart fell 8-3 to Emily Galbraith, and No. 6 Sumners lost 8-2 to Samantha Ortiz.

In doubles, No. 1 Maassen-Megan Gearhart defeated Werner-Mitchell 8-4, but No. 2 Sapiens-Ray and No. 3 Emily Gearhart-Sumners were each defeated 8-2 by Neosho’s Lindsay-McCauley and Galbraith-Ortiz, respectively.
