After a pair of wins to close out regular season play in September, the Aurora Lady Houns went 1-2 in the Carl Junction Classic and fell Tuesday at home to Logan-Rogersville to fall to 6-7 on the year.

Coach Skye Wade's team fought valiantly against the 16-1 Lady Wildcats this week, playing point for point for most of the first game, but Rogersville eventually won the set 25-21. Aurora's momentum from the first set never came back in the second, as the Lady Houns fell 25-8 to take the 2-0 loss.

At the end of September, Aurora picked up a pair of big road wins, defeating Monett and Hollister 2-0 each.

Against the Lady Cubs, Aurora won each set 25-22. Julia McVey and Belle Marquier recorded seven and six kills respectively, while Olivia Gibson picked up three aces. Kortney Juracek led the defense with seven digs, and Gabie McVey recorded 16 assists.

At Hollister, the Lady Houns won 25-17 and 25-16 over the Lady Tigers. Gabie McVey had an all-around solid performance, recording five aces, two kills, 24 assists and one block. Juracek led with eight digs, while Brooke Bellamy led with eight kills. Bellamy and Marquier each picked up a block, as well.

Aurora will compete this weekend in the Lori Endicott Invitational before hosting rival Mt. Vernon on Tuesday.
