The Aurora girls and boys track teams each finished in fourth place after a chilly meet at Republic on Monday, with several athletes placing in the top four in their respective events.
Highlights of the day included a first place finish by Emily Moore in the javelin and six second place performances -- Brooke Bellamy and Logan Lauffer in the 200-meter dash, the girls' 4x200-meter relay, Isaac Martinez in the 400-meter dash, Colson Husmann in the pole vault and a stunning boys' 4x400-meter relay. The relay team of Dalton Thornton, Jeffrey Simpson, Lauffer and Martinez finished just 13 hundredths of a second off the first place finish, thanks in part to Martinez's incredible anchor split.

The teams will look to improve on their results in Thursday's home meet before traveling to Reeds Spring on Tuesday.
