Williams Jennings Dykes

Marionville - Williams Jennings Dykes, 92, Marionville, Missouri was born June 22, 1928 in Surgoinsville, Tennessee to Oscar and Nola Hoard Dykes and departed this life June 3, 2021 at Cox Medical Center South Springfield, Missouri.

He had served in the United States Navy for 3 years and the United States Army for 3 years during the Korean War and had received a Silver Star. He was a jack of all things, always working on something, piloting his plane, doing carpenter work building houses or working on his garden. Bill's main occupation was being a Christian Minister for over 60 years, being in the mission field in Mexico, Honduras Guatemala and Belize. While in the mission field he would help build churches, orphanages and helped start a Bible College in Mexico.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brother Henry Dykes and sister, Lorena Parson.

Survivors include his wife Loretta Rainwater Dykes; 4 sons, William Dykes Jr., James Dykes, Timothy Dykes and Kenneth Dykes; 3 daughters, Susan Hubbard, Debra Collins and Angie Holder; brother, Oscar Dykes; 2 sisters, Eileen Stewart and Bondale Zeuguin; 21 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren other relatives and friends.

Graveside services were held Friday, June 4, 2021 in Old Carney Cemetery under the care of Westrip Funeral Home, Crane, Missouri.
