John Lee Woolsey, age 78, of Marionville, Missouri, passed away at 11:21 a.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at his home. He was born October 10, 1940, in Tebbetts, Missouri, the son of Luther William and Mabel Marie (Burton) Woolsey.

John worked for the City of Fulton, Missouri and loved woodworking and spending time with his dog Buddy and visiting with friends.

On April 28, 1978, he married Vera June Gardner in Centralia, Missouri. She preceded him in death on August 28, 2013.

John is survived by his family, Max White and Cheryl, of Springfield, Missouri, Tammy McCoy and her husband, Gary, of Miller, Missouri, Mike Knight and his wife, Holly, of Summerville, South Carolina and Sue Hutchins and her husband, Norman, of Fulton, Missouri; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Lola Eslinger of Springfield; two brothers-in-law, Wilbur Ewing of Fulton and Marvin Gardner and his wife, Doris, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri; several nieces and other family members and friends and his dog Buddy.

His parents, Luther and Mable, wife, Vera, three sisters, Mildred Alexander, Dorothy Shaeffer and Alpha John, three brothers, Floyd, Steward “Bill” and Norman Woolsey and sister-in-law, Vivian Ewing preceded him in death.

A visitation was held on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at the Williams Funeral Home in Marionville with a funeral service following in the funeral home chapel. Burial followed at the Marionville IOOF Cemetery.
