Estella Jane Elliott Watson, age 91, formerly of Aurora, Missouri, passed away on October 24, 2018, in Birmingham, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her husband, Irv Watson, sons Larry Watson and infant Ronald Dean Watson, as well as her parents, C.T. and Edna Elliott, and brother, Charles Elliott.

She is survived by daughters, Alta Faye Watson Fenton (Gary) of Birmingham, Alabama, and Joanna Watson Christopher (Gordon) of Sharpsburg, Georgia, and a daughter-in-law, Kathy Watson of Aurora, Missouri. Also surviving is her brother, Bill Elliott, of Springfield, Missouri, eight grandchildren, Amy Fenton Lee (Brian) and Leah Fenton Treadwell (Chip) of Homewood, Alabama, Sara Fenton Hassler (Philip) of McKinney, Texas, Josh Watson (Carrie) of Aurora, Missouri, Dee Watson (Lynn) of Monett, Missouri, Clint Watson (Stephanie) of Republic, Missouri, Jonathan Christopher (Lita) of Sharpsburg, Georgia, and Jordan Christopher of Goodyear, Arizona. Also surviving are 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Estella graduated from Aurora High School in 1945 and married Irv Watson on September 11, 1946. They lived and farmed all their married life in Lawrence or Barry County, Missouri. She was a homemaker with the gift of hospitality, active in local and state PTA, and Cooperative Extension Clubs. Mrs. Watson was an active member of First Baptist Church, Aurora, Missouri, where she taught young women’s Sunday school for a number of years. In her late 50s she developed an interest in painting landscapes and farm scenes and sharing her paintings with family members and friends.

A visitation will be held from 10:00-10:45 a.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora with a graveside service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial gifts be given to the Come and Dine Ministry of the First Baptist Church, 201 South Jefferson, Aurora, Missouri 65605.
