Mildred Imogene Hillhouse, age 92, of Verona, Missouri, passed away at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday,

November 10, 2019, at the Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. She was born March 6,

1927, in Aurora, Missouri, the daughter of Benjamin and Tressa Leona (Garrison) Lasswell.

Imogene was the owner and operator of the Dairy Mart Drive Inn, in Aurora, from 1967–1977.

She was the Circuit Clerk for Lawrence County and a member of the Aurora Assembly of God Church. The things that were most important to Imogene was her faith in Jesus, her family, and spending time in her flower garden.

On October 2, 1943, she married Lewis Hillhouse, in Aurora. He preceded her in death on November 11, 1997.

Imogene is survived by her two daughters, Sharon Hillhouse and Shirley Hillhouse, both of Verona; two granddaughters, Tammy Stephens and her husband, Mark, of Verona and Sheryl Massey and her husband, Jim, of Aurora; three great-grandchildren, Brandi Cook and her husband, Brian, Dylan Ray and Zachary Massey, all of Aurora; two great-great granddaughters, Aybri and Emmy Cook; one brother, Donald Lasswell and his wife, Virginia, of Aurora and several nieces and nephews.

Imogene was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Tressa, husband, Lewis, three sisters, Nadine Daum, Ilene Lasswell and Audrey Bigelow and six brothers, Benjamin, Richard, Gilbert, Isaac, Eldon and Earl Lasswell.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 15, 2019, at the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora with burial to follow at the Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora.
