The 2018 Shakin’ in the Shell and Classic and Custom Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show takes place beginning Friday evening September 14 and continues all day Saturday, September 15 on Needles Eye Road in Shell Knob.
The Festival begins with a "Funky Friday Night," on September 14, from 5-10 p.m. A great evening to enjoy good music will begin at 7 with Earl and Them. Earl Cate is a legendary guitar player who has played and toured with The Band, Crosby Stills and Nash, Bo Diddley, Little Feat and many others. His bands have shared the stage with Queen, Fleetwood Mac, Boz Scaggs, Elvin Bishop, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and many other rock legends of our time.
Enjoy great food and drink, and check out vendors who will be up and ready for early-bird shopping on Saturday. Be the first to check out Jug ‘N Plug’s “Man Cave Booth.” Bring your partner, your kids and even your dog! The new “Dog House” will provide you and your furry pal a friendly place to “bark” and eat.
"Super Fun Saturday" begins at 10 a.m. on September 15. From games to live animal workshops to contests and tournaments, organizers have filled every corner of time and space with entertainment and activities. There will be a huge amusement area that includes a rock climbing wall, rides, bouncy houses, bubble soccer, carnival games and bungie jump. Discount tickets for the Amusement Area are available at the Shell Knob School, Arvest Bank in Cassville and Blue Eye Elementary School.
The festival will also have its annual Horseshoe Tournament, Sand Volleyball Tournament, Lip Synch Contest, Little Mister and Miss Shell Knob, and Shell Knob Diva contests. Visitors won’t want to miss the Dickerson Zoo Live Animal Workshops throughout the day that include two eagles (and many other animals) up close and personal.
The Come, Sit and Play Dog House will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. All pups and their owners can rest in the shade, participate in creative activities, munch on free dog treats and lap up plenty of fresh water at the Dog House. Furry friends and fellow animal lovers will enjoy special events and contests for dogs throughout the day. Expect some new and creative activities and cool prizes. Haven of the Ozarks will also be on site with dogs for adoption.
On Saturday, the 29th Annual Classic and Custom Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show begins with registration at 7:30 a.m., judging at 10 a.m. and the awards presentation at 3 p.m. Pre-registration for the show is available by contacting Don Erickson at 858-3094.
From 4-8 p.m., there will be a Casino Party with poker, craps and blackjack. Have a few beers or some wine and chow down on yummy food from amazing food vendors while you play and have fun. As a special bonus, everyone will have the opportunity to play one-on-one against professional gambler Mike Caro.
Visitors also have the opportunity to grab a ride in the tethered hot air balloon basket and look over the fest site from 75 feet up.
