The Lawrence County Health Department has announced the dates of the upcoming adult seasonal flu clinics. Vaccine currently available is the Quadrivalent and High Dose Senior Strength. Flu shots at the clinics listed below are for ages 19 and older.

Vaccination is especially important for people with long-term health problems and weakened immune systems and household members of “at risk” people. The cost of the shot is $25. The health department is also able to bill Medicaid/MoHealthNet, Medicare and most insurance. Patients are asked to bring insurance and Medicare/Medicaid card with them.

Times and dates to receive flu shots include:

9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., October 11, at Town & Country Supermarket (110 North Elm, Pierce City) 8 a.m. - 1 p.m., October 18, at Aurora Chamber of Commerce (121 East Olive, Aurora) Every Monday through Friday from 8-11:30 a.m. and 1-3:30 p.m. at the Lawrence County Health Department (105 West North St., Mt. Vernon)

Children's vaccine

Flu shots will also be available for children six months to 18 years of age. The cost of the vaccine is $5 for Lawrence County children and $20 for out of county children. The health department accepts children’s Medicaid, cash or check. Families may come to the health department for children's vaccines at the same times listed above.
