The Lawrence County Health Department has announced the dates of the upcoming adult seasonal flu clinics. Vaccines currently available include the Quadrivalent, Flublok and High Dose Senior Strength.
Flu shots at the clinics listed below are for ages 19 and older. It is especially important for people with long term health problems and weakened immune systems and household members of “at risk” people. The cost of the shot is $30. The health department is also able to bill Medicare and most insurance. Patients are asked to remember to bring insurance and/or Medicare cards with them.
Flu shot dates include 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, October 17, at Town and Country Supermarket in Pierce City (110 North Elm), as well as 8-11:30 a.m. and 1-3:30 p.m., every Monday through Friday, at the Lawrence County Health Department (105 West North Street in Mt. Vernon.
Flu shots will also be available for children aged six months to 18 years. The cost of the vaccine is $5 for Lawrence County children and $20 for out of county children. The health department accepts Children’s Medicaid, cash or check. Patients may come to the health department for children's flu shots at the same times as listed above.
