Fall athletes gain individual honors

This year, Aurora did its fall sports recognitions differently. Each sport held its own banquet to recognize the athletes during the 2011 season.
Football
Coach Rick Scholten presented Houn’ Dawgs with awards and plaques for the 2011 season.
Honors were:
• Lucas Guthrie -- Offensive Lineman of the Year
• Jesse Galloway -- Defensive Lineman of the Year
• Everett Basham -- Offensive Player of the Year
• Galloway -- Defensive Player of the Year
• William Blankenship
-- Scout Team Player of the Year
• Andrew Parker -- Top Newcomer of the Year
• Aaron Blades -- Houn’ Dawg of the Year
• Guthrie -- Houn’ Dawg of the Year
• Basham -- Big Hitter of the Year
• Brad Marler -- Big Hitter of the Year
• Tyler Brown -- Most Inspirational Player of the Year
• Austin Lenox -- 10,000 Yards of Up Downs
Softball
Coach Angie Miller presented the softball athletes with awards.
Awards were:
• Tori Armstrong -- Most Improved Award
• Paige Whitlock -- Most Valuable Player
• Sydney Shoemaker -- Big Bat Award
• Cierra Hilton -- Golden Glove Award
Tennis
Coach Ray Perry presented the tennis girls with awards for the fall season.
Awards were: 
• Courtney Thrasher -- Best Varsity Singles Record
• Thrasher -- Best Doubles Record
• Shay Sanches -- Best Varsity Doubles Record
• Rebecca Chavira -- Team Inspiration Award
• Calli Claybough -- Team Leadership Award
Soccer
Coach Curtis Bishop presented the Soccer Dawgs with their 2011 awards.
Awards were:
• Sergio Rodriguez -- first team All-District
• Markus Bellman -- first team All-District
• Johnny Lindeman -- second team All-District
• Kevin Riley -- second team All-District
• Mason Edwards -- second team All-District
• Rodriguez -- Most Valuable Player
• Jordon Maddocks -- Top Defender Award
• Bellman -- Newcomer Award
• Lindeman -- Houn’ Dawg Award
• Riley -- Houn’ Dawg Award
