The Aurora Lady Houns followed up a respectable fifth-place finish in the Lori Endicott Invitational with a 2-0 win over rival Mt. Vernon on Tuesday, improving their overall record on the year to 10-12-3.

Coach Skye Wade's team began the tournament at Willard on Saturday with a 2-0 loss to Fair Grove and a 1-1 tie against Mountain Grove.

The team bounced back with a 2-0 win over Buffalo but fell 2-0 to Logan-Rogersville for the second time in less than a week to find itself in the fifth-place matchup. The Lady Houns took two straight from Stockton to bring home fifth and finish the tournament with an even record.

Aurora then hosted the Lady Mountaineers in their Pink Out game Tuesday evening. The Lady Houns beat their number one rival 25-20 in the first set and 25-13 in the second to complete the sweep.

With one more home match and the Conference Crossover to go before district play, the Lady Houns will soon know their position in the seeding ahead of the district tournament, set for October 23-24 at Cassville.
