With six games remaining in the regular season, the Aurora Houn' Dawgs picked up a crucial road win on Monday to improve to 7-6-3 overall on the year. Coach Curtis Bishop's team defeated Cassville for the second time this season, winning by a score of 2-1 away from home turf.
Spencer Briggs scored the opening goal on an assist from Jordani Perez, but the game was tied by the end of the first half.
With 20 minutes remaining in the match, Perez put away his own score to give the Houn' Dawgs the lead and eventually the win. Patrick Reyes assisted on the corner kick goal.
Clemente Reyes picked up the win in the net for Aurora, making eight saves along the way.
Prior to Monday's win, the Dawgs fell at Marshfield 2-0. Two first-half goals were the difference, as Aurora held the home team off in the second but could not finish its own chances on offense. Patrick Reyes recorded 10 saves in the loss.
Aurora will travel to Greenwood on Friday and Springfield Catholic on Tuesday before wrapping up its final three games of the regular season at home.
