With a week of competition left before teams participate in their respective holiday tournaments, the high school basketball season is in full swing for the Aurora and Verona squads.

Notable results in recent weeks include a pair of wins for Verona boys, under Coach Brad Stewart. The Wildcats picked up two road victories last week, over Sarcoxie 63-41 on Tuesday and against Miller 73-42 on Friday night.

Also at Miller last Friday, the Lady Wildcats fell 43-32. The Verona girls and boys will both compete in the Walnut Grove Holiday Classic, beginning December 21.

In Aurora, the Lady Houns went 1-1 over the past week, rolling to a win on the road at Reeds Spring before falling in a close game against Parkview, 67-64.

The Lady Houns are again scheduled to compete in the Pink and White Tournament in Springfield the week following Christmas.
