The Aurora Lady Houns volleyball team continued its dominant season last weekend, dropping just two sets all day en route to a first place trophy in the Mt. Vernon Tournament.

Aurora began the day in pool play against Clever, drawing 1-1 against the Lady Blue Jays before defeating West Plains and Hillcrest in straight sets.

The Lady Houns then met the host team in the semifinals, just four days after defeating Mt. Vernon at home in regular season play. Aurora fell 25-20 in the first set on Saturday but came back with easy wins in the final two sets (25-11, 25-13) to move on to the finals.

In the championship match, the Lady Houns again met West Plains and again dispatched the Zizzers in two sets, this time by 25-20 and 25-19 scores.

After the championship-winning weekend, the team was back in regular season action earlier this week, winning on the road at Clever and at home over Lamar in two games each. With the wins, the Lady Houns moved to 24-3-2 overall on the season.

The team will wrap up conference play with a pair of matches next week, at home against Cassville on Tuesday and on the road at McDonald County on Thursday.
