The Aurora Houn' Dawgs defeated Thomas Jefferson 8-4 Tuesday to extend their winning streak to three games after falling in two straight overtime matches against Webb City and Marshfield.

Junior Patrick Reyes was the leading goal-scorer for Aurora against the Cavaliers, scoring a hat trick in the win. Senior Miguel Gallardo and junior Spencer Briggs each added two goals for the Dawgs, while senior Denny Mayne scored one.

In last Thursday's 5-0 shutout at McDonald County, it was Mayne with the hat trick, while Gallardo recorded a goal and three assists. Jordani Perez added a goal, and Reyes picked up the shutout in goal, his seventh of the season.

Also last week, the Dawgs picked up a 4-1 win against Cassville, as four different Aurora players put their names on the score sheet. Mayne recorded a penalty kick goal, and Briggs, Gallardo and Alex Hamelink scored the remaining three goals.

The Dawgs, who hold a record of 13-4 on the year, will finish out the regular season with a road game at Logan-Rogersville next Friday before entering district play.
