The Aurora Lady Houns will enter district play as the fifth seed next week. Aurora held a 6-18 overall record as of the seeding meeting and will face fourth-seeded Nevada on Wednesday.

The Lady Houns picked up a pair of wins over the weekend in the Springfield Tournament, defeating Eldon 16-1 and Carl Junction 3-1.

Chloe Ryan led the Aurora offense against the Lady Mustangs, racking up four RBI and two runs on three hits. Leadoff hitter Elizabeth Martin added two RBI and two runs on one hit, while Kaysie Carr scored four runs for Aurora. Autumn Danforth and Madison Hartwigsen recorded two hits each in the win.

Ryan and Danforth each recorded two hits against Carl Junction, while Hailey Sturgell led the team with three hits. Danforth and Martin were responsible for both Aurora RBI in the game, while Sturgell picked up the win in the circle.

The first-round district game against Nevada is scheduled to being at 4 p.m. on Wednesday at Monett.
