After sweeping Monett in the first round of district play, the Aurora Lady Houns were knocked out of the team competition with a 5-0 loss to Thomas Jefferson on Tuesday.

Aurora picked up singles wins by Sarah Woodall and Amber Gorman on Monday and swept the doubles competitions to defeat the Lady Cubs 5-0. The pairing of Woodall and Grace Fairchild, as well as Hannah Estes and Alexis Hoftiezer won 8-2, and the Amber Gorman/Lauren Sapiens pair recorded an 8-2 victory.

Unfortunately for coach Ray Perry's team, the script was flipped the following day, as the Lady Houns fell 5-0 to Thomas Jefferson.

Fairchild fell in the number one position (6-4, 6-1) and Woodall was defeated in the second position (6-1, 6-0).

The same doubles pairs that were victorious against Monett fell 8-2, 8-3 and 8-4, respectively.

The final loss gave the Lady Houns a team record of 6-6 overall, a significant improvement from the one win by the team last season.
