The successful tennis season for the Aurora Lady Houns continued last Wednesday, as coach Ray Perry's team defeated Webb City 5-4 on the road.

Number one player Grace Fairchild led the Lady Houns with a 5-4 victory, while Hannah Estes won 8-0 and Amber Gorman earned an 8-4 win. Alexis Hoftiezer won 9-8, 7-2 in the number four position, as well.

The Hoftiezer/Gorman doubles pair won 8-6 in the Lady Houns' only doubles victory on the day, enough to earn Aurora the win overall.

After a 9-0 loss to Springfield Catholic the following day, Aurora faced Mt. Vernon at home on Tuesday, falling 7-2 to the conference rivals.

Fairchild was the only singles win for the Lady Houns on the match, defeating her opponent 8-0. The doubles pairs of Estes and Sydni Simpson and Hoftiezer and Lauren Sapiens were victorious by scores of 8-4 and 8-1, respectively.

After competing in the Monett Tournament on Wednesday, the Lady Houns travel to Clever on Friday and to Thomas Jefferson on Monday.
