Marionville pitcher and infielder Aaron Head was selected recently to participate in the 2017 Abou Ben Adhem (ABA) Shrine Mosque Preservation Baseball Showcase at Hammons Field in Springfield. Almost 90 area baseball coaches were asked to recommend players for the showcase, which is scheduled for Saturday, July 15.
The recent Marionville graduate will be a member of the West team, along with 23 other players representing the area. Players for both the East and West teams will have a chance to showcase their talents in front of college and professional scouts while also raising money for the Shrine Mosque Preservation Association.
A banquet will be held at 6 p.m. the evening before the game and will be open to the public, with tickets available for $15. Tickets to the game itself are $4 in advance or $7 at the gate. Gates open at 10 a.m. for the noon game.
