Coach Ray Perry's Lady Houns tennis team opened the season by sweeping Monett 7-0 on August 19 before dropping tough matches against Carl Junction and Neosho earlier this week.

Grace Fairchild, Kimberly Rodriguez, Silu Morrison, Sarah Woodall, Sydney Simpson and Jessica Graham all earned wins in singles play against the Lady Cubs. Fairchild and Rodriguez won their doubles match by a score of 9-7, while the Morrison/Woodall pair blanked their opponents, 8-0.

The results were flipped when the Lady Houns faced off with Carl Junction, as each Aurora player fell in singles play, while the Lady Bulldogs swept the doubles matchups, as well.

After Monday's loss, the Lady Houns traveled to Neosho for their third match in five days. Fairchild fell in the number one spot, but Aurora picked up wins in the two through four positions. Rodriguez and Woodall won 8-5, while Morrison picked up the 8-6 win.

In doubles play, Fairchild and Rodriguez picked up their second win of the year, beating their Neosho opponents 8-2 for Aurora's only double win on the night.

Aurora will have two more home matches next week, including a rematch with Carl Junction on Tuesday after facing Greenwood Monday.
