It was the first game back for Truman sophomore catcher Chloe Armstrong.

And did she make an impact.

She was 4-for-4 with four RBIs and three runs scored in a 11-1 five-inning run rule victory over Raytown South Wednesday. The win ended the Patriots' four-game losing streak.

“Our kids came to play tonight and it showed on the field,” Truman coach Dan Harper said.

Kara Amos made her debut as well as a freshman pitcher. She was 2-for-4 at the plate and only gave up one run in five innings and struck out nine.

“That's a phenomenal performance on any day,” Harper said, “but especially in your first ever high school game. Needless to say, the team is excited to get back at it next week.”
