This marks the third year for students at Verona Elementary School to do in-depth studies and prepare displays for the Multicultural Fair. The event sponsors the diversity of the community where more than one-third of the student population is Hispanic.

Snow on May 3 breaks 84-year record

A snow on May 3 in the Aurora area breaks an old record. According to the National Weather Service, the previous record for the latest date of a one-inch-or-more snow fall on the ground in the Springfield area occurred on May 2, 1929. A good portion of the snow melted by mid-afternoon.
