Rose Koehler Havelka

Rose Koehler Havelka, age 79, of Aurora, passed away at 3:25 p.m., Monday, August 23, 2010, at the Aurora Nursing Center.  She was born on October 29, 1930, in Verona, the daughter of Phillip and Mary Ann (Lesher) Koehler.

Rose was a 1948 graduate of Verona High School, worked as a machine operator for the Juvenile Shoe Factory and was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, where she was a very active member. 

On May 7, 1952, she married Albert J. Havelka in Verona.  He preceded her in death on March 25, 2004.

Those surviving her include: two sons, Mike Havelka and his wife, Camille of Cypress, Texas, and Kenny Havelka of Carthage; two daughters, Mary Lou Casperite and her husband, Brian of Bonham, Texas, and Joyce Forrester and her husband, Terry of Aurora; six grandchildren, Brandi Forrester, Christopher Casperite, Kristina Casperite Ratliff and her husband, Joshua, Matthew Casperite, Steven Havelka and Rachelle Havelka; two sisters, Caroline Parrigon and her husband, James of Pierce City, and Bernice Koenig and her husband, Clarence of Monett; a sister-in-law, Margaret Koehler of Verona; two brother-in-laws, Tony Havelka and his wife, Barbara of Verona, and Edward Havelka of Marshalltown, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews. 

Her parents and brother, Ernest Koehler, also preceded her in death.

A funeral mass, under the direction of the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 27, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, with burial in Calvary Cemetery in Verona.  Rosary services were held from 6 to 6:30 p.m., Thursday, August 26, with visitation following until 8 p.m. in the funeral home.

Memorial donations in memory of Rose may be made to Holy Trinity Catholic Church in care of the funeral home.
