Sondra Lynn Kennedy, age 50, of Waxahachie, Texas, and formerly of Aurora, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2010, at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. 
Sondra was born on September 17, 1959, in Monett,  the daughter of Leroy and Betty Jean (Bradley) Parker.  Sondra was a 1978 graduate of Aurora High School and was known for her work with Relay For Life programs. On June 9, 1978, she married Tim Kennedy in Aurora; he survives her of the home.
Prior to moving to Waxahachie in 2008, Sondra owned and operated Blessings Floral in Marionville and Kennedy Tax Service. She was a member of Aurora Baptist Temple and, with her husband Tim, was greatly involved with the ministries of their church.  In Texas, she attended the Red Oak First Baptist Church.  
Additional survivors include, her mother, Betty Parker of Aurora; two sons, Brandon Kennedy and his wife Melissa of Waxahachie, Texas, and Josh Kennedy and his wife Ashley of Mt. Vernon; her brother, Steven Parker and his wife Deanna of Aurora; and her granddaughter, Abigail Kennedy. Her father and son Caleb preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 3, at Aurora Baptist Temple, with burial in Maple Park Cemetery. A visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 2, at Aurora Baptist Temple. Memorial donations may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
