Bill D. Robbins, 81, of Springfield passed away, August 15, 2010, following an illness of several months. He was strong in his Christian faith and satisfied that he was ready to depart this life. Bill was born August 17, 1928, south of Aurora, and leaves many family and friends in this area.

In 1972, Bill was married to Dorothea Rauch, who preceded him in death in 1996.

Bill’s adult life spanned several careers, including preacher, dog groom, dog show handler and dog and cat breeder. He was an artist, enjoyed backyard gardening and raising goats, poultry and flowers. For a time, Bill was active in various flower and goat clubs in the area.

Though he had no children, his nieces and nephews were very special to him. Bill and Dorothea were blessed to help raise three of her nephews, Albert, Henry and Leonard Rauch, who survive.

He was also preceded in death by his  parents, Howard and Burnice (Lemaster) Robbins; a sister, June Kenyon; and a brother, Raymond Robbins.

He is survived by a brother, Charlie Robbins of Sparta; a sister, Sallie Roam of O’Fallon; 10 nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

Bill was cremated and no funeral services are planned at his request. His remains will be placed beside his beloved Dorothea at St. Peter’s Cemetery at Billings.
