Bradley Burton Briggs, age 75, of Verona, Missouri passed away at home on Sunday, January 7, 2018. He was born December 21, 1942, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the son of Marion Burton and Marjorie Lois (Campbell) Briggs.
Brad was a 1961 graduate of Corona High School in Corona, California. He attended and played basketball at Chaffey Jr. College in Chino, California. He was an entrepreneur and owned several different businesses including Briggs’ General Store in Verona and the Dairy Mart, Briggs Plantation Restaurant, and Bootlegger’s Restaurant in Aurora.
On September 4, 1965, he married Cheryl Gay Liston in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Brad is survived by his wife of 52 years, Cheryl; two daughters and a son; Melissa Briggs and her husband Randy Severson of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, Susan Briggs of Piedmont, California and Shawn Briggs and his wife Terri of Aurora; six grandchildren, Gavin, Spencer and Larson Briggs and Willow, Violet and River Faust and one sister, Linda Briggs, of San Marcos, California.
His father, Marion Briggs, and his mother and stepfather, Marjorie and Merton Blake preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 12, 2018, at the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora. Visitation will follow from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Haven of the Ozarks Animal Sanctuary or the Aurora Dawg Pound in care of the funeral home.
