Jerry Joe Hilton, age 67, of Aurora, Missouri, passed away at 4:48 p.m. on Monday, November 27, 2017, at the Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. He was born May 26, 1950, in Aurora, the son of Billy Joe and Peggy (Bohm) Hilton.
Jerry was a 1968 graduate of Verona High School in Verona, Missouri. Jerry was a dairy farmer until 1981 at which time he sold the farm. He was an insurance agent and a real estate agent for Century 21 Realtors. He was a big race fan, a loving father and grandfather. He was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church, Abou Ben Adhem Shriners for 27 years, a Mason and a member of the Aurora Lions Club.
On September 5, 1970, he married Pam Bowling, in Aurora.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 47 years, Pam; one son, Micheal Hilton and his wife, Crystal, of Marshfield, Missouri; one daughter, Tisha Hilton and her fiancé, Marvin Arnold II, of Aurora; one sister, Kaye Pilkenton and her husband, Scott, of Aurora; three grandchildren, Brittany Hilton, Marvin Arnold III and Hayden Hilton; one great-granddaughter, Addy Hicks; his mother-in-law, Maxine Brittian of Aurora; his father-in-law, Delmer Bowling, of Monroe, Washington; nephew, Seth Seitz and his wife, Amy, and family; niece, Talia Stone and her husband, Kris and several cousins and extended family.
His parents, Billy and Peggy, and sister, Angela Hilton, preceded him in death.
A funeral service, under the direction of the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, in Aurora will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at the Lee Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at the church.
Memorial donations may be made payable to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital or the Children’s Miracle Network, in care of the funeral home.
