Derald L. Meyer, age 88, of Verona, Missouri, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Saturday, September 30, 2017, at his home. He was born June 1, 1929, in Enid, Oklahoma, the son of Earl and Mildred (Packard) Meyer.
Derald was a 1947 graduate of Marionville High School, in Marionville, Missouri. Derald retired after 42 years of service for the U.S. Postal Service and was a member of the Southside Baptist Church.
On May 12, 1949, he married Barbara Smith in Marionville, Missouri.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Barbara; one son, Mike Meyer and his wife, Sherry, of Verona; two daughters, Gail Martin and her husband, Gary, of Cassville, Missouri and Vicky Kelley and her husband, Tony, of Monett, Missouri; five grandchildren, Caleb of Joplin, Missouri, Wendy of Taos, New Mexico, Jody and her husband, Shawn, of Frisco, Texas, Colt and his wife, Tess, of Tyler, Texas, and Zachary of Kansas City, Missouri and one great-granddaughter, Saisha, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri.
His parents, Earl and Mildred, and brother, Merlin Meyer preceded him in death.
No services are planned at this time. Local arrangements are under the direction of the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora, Missouri.
