William "Bill" Twitty, 91, of Aurora passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2017 after a short illness.

He was born to James and Sarah Laney Twitty on October 5, 1925 in Washburn, MO. Bill was a retired mechanic, farmer, he loved riding horses, enjoyed traveling, was a member of the Verona Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the Rocking A Saddle Club.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; 2 sons, James Twitty of Aurora and Clyde Twitty and wife, Deborah of Mulberry, AR.; sister, Marie Harlen of Marionville, MO.; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Ronald Twitty; one daughter, Janet Reed; two brothers, Cecil and LeRoy Twitty; and three sisters, Myrtle Deans, Maude Mahurin and Rose Osterlough.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 5 at 1 p.m. in the Verona Baptist Church under the care of Peterson Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Spring River Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
