Helen Viola Inmon, age 83, of Marionville, Missouri, passed away peacefully in her home on Sat. July 29, 2017. Viola was born May 27, 1934, the daughter of Orvil and Lucy Harmon.
As a young woman she was married to Troy Coker, Sr., and to that marriage was born three children, Troy, Diana, and Ron.
In 1960, Viola was married to Joseph “Joe” Inmon and they began a new life together on the Inmon family farm in Stone County, Missouri. To that marriage was born three girls, Veronica, Sherry, and Velma. Viola and Joe raised their six children in the large farmhouse on the 140 acre James River farm, and passed on their values of hard work and Christianity to their children.
A few years after Joe’s death on July 29, 1989, Viola moved to her Marionville home where she enjoyed her large yard, nearby family, and wonderful neighbors for over 20 years.
Others preceding Viola in death were her parents, Lucy and Orvil; stepmother, Sylvia; siblings, Alice Merritt, Dorothy Burton, Donna Apton and Eugene Harmon; a son, Troy Coker, Jr.; a daughter, Veronica Gatton; a granddaughter, Cassandra Coker; a niece, Pamela Burton; a nephew, David Burton; and son in law, Marvin Boyd.
She is survived by three daughters, Diana King and husband Jay, of Nixa, Sherry Eckels and husband Derek, of Clever, and Velma Boyd and husband John of Marionville; one son, Ron Coker and wife Kathy, of Hurley; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren.
A visitation was held on Aug. 3, 2017, at Meadors Funeral Home, Clever Chapel. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Aug. 4, 2017, with burial following in Wright Cemetery, south of Clever. Family and friends may share online condolences at www.meadorsfuneralhome.com
