Merle Eaton, age 87, of Marionville, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2017, at her home. She was born April 11, 1930, in Reeds Springs, Missouri, the daughter of the late Elbert and Tressie (Sharp) Hedrick.

Merle married Fred Eaton on April 27, 1952, in Elsey, Missouri. They lived on their farm north of Marionville for almost 60 years. She loved farming, gardening, cooking, canning, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Marionville.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Fred, of the home; her daughter, Patty Pippin of Marionville; her son, Larry Eaton and his wife, Teresa, of Bois D’Arc, Missouri; two grandsons, Kevin Armstrong and Justin Pippin and his wife, Marlie; four granddaughters, Trisha Guengerich and her husband, Michael, Melissa Morris and her husband, Jacob, Danielle Sartin and her husband, Jeremy, and Theresa Armstrong; five great-granddaughters, Kallan, Jaylie, Lillie, Kaidence and Laityn; four great-grandsons, Bailey, Charlie, Clay and Colter; two brothers, Cecil and Bill; three sisters, May, Evelyn, and Rosa Lee and several nieces and nephews.

Her parents, Elbert and Tressie, three brothers and her great-granddaughter, Harper Sartin, preceded her in death.

A funeral service was held on Thursday, June 22, 2017, at the Williams Funeral Home in Marionville with burial to follow at the Yocum Pond Cemetery in Reeds Springs. Visitation was held on Wednesday, June 21, 2017, in the funeral home chapel.

Memorial donations may be made payable to the American Heart Association, Alzheimer’s Association or Camp Barnabas in care of the funeral home.
