Gordon Lee Morris, age 80, of Monett, Missouri, formerly of Marionville, Missouri, passed from this life on June 1, 2017, in the comfort of his home following a short illness. Gordon was born January 5, 1937, in Princeton, Illinois the son of Marvin and Marie (Washer) Morris. He graduated from Centralia High School in 1955, in Centralia, Missouri, where he played football, basketball and was on the track team. He served his country from 1957-1959 in the United States Army. Gordon is preceded in death by his parents, sister Betty Jane Blake, and brother Donald Morris. On April 11, 1986 in Gladstone, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Sue, his best friend and wife of 31 years.

Gordon is survived by his wife, Sue; three daughters, Lisa Jones and her husband, Matt, Joni Burnett and her husband, Mark, Gina Maxwell and her husband, Russell

and one son, Michael Morris; two step daughters, Penny Lyons and her husband, Steven and Jennifer West; one step son Marcus West; nine grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; five step grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Beulah Morris as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends over the states.

Gordon had many adventures during his lifetime. He enjoyed meeting and talking with people, whether through real estate, auction or his woodworking businesses. Gordon enjoyed antiquing, flea marketing with Sue and playing golf with his buddies.

Per Gordon’s wishes, no funeral services are planned. His celebration of life is that you remember him the way he was when you last visited with him. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora, Missouri.

The family would like to thank Samir Dalia, MD and Dana Hesington, RN; Chaplain Jack and the employees at Cassville Hospice for all their care through this time. We would also like to thank everyone for their prayers and support. His family and friends will truly miss Gordon. He was a great friend and a truly good man.
