J.C. Breidenstein, age 84, of Marionville, Missouri, passed away at 9:20 p.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at the Lacoba Nursing Home in Monett. He was born June 5, 1932, in Lawrence County, the son of the late Leo Roy and Mildred Ava (Norris) Breidenstein.

J. C. was a 1950 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School. He was a farmer for 16 years before going to work for the Ozark Methodist Manor in Marionville, for 17 years and then retiring after 20 years from the maintenance and housekeeping department of the Cox Monett Hospital. He was a member of the Union Grove Church in Aurora, and enjoyed playing music for churches, nursing homes and festivals.

On June 14, 1968, he married Shirley Yarrington, in Forsyth, Missouri.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Shirley; daughter, Klista Meirick and her husband, Herbert of Mt. Vernon; two sons, Daniel Breidenstein and his wife, Kathy, of Monett and Terry Breidenstein and his wife, Donna, of Aurora; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-greatgrandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

His parents, Leo and Mildred and brother, J.D. Breidenstein, preceded him in death.

A graveside service, under the direction of the Williams Funeral Home in Marionville, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 19, 2017, at the Marionville IOOF Cemetery.
