Stroemel will lead hospital

Officials with St. John’s Hospital--Aurora announced on January 29 that Doug Stroemel accepted the position of president for St. John’s West Region.

In this position, he will focus on hospital operations in Aurora and Cassville. He has served as vice-president/chief operating officer at St. John’s Hospital–Aurora since 2007.  

Prior to that, he was the clinical executive director for the West Region and manager of respiratory therapy and cardiopulmonary rehab in Cassville. Stroemel attended Drury University and received his master of health administration from Webster University in 2009. 

“We are excited to have Doug accept this new role. He knows our system well and will be a great fit for the West Region,” said Michele Schaefer, senior vice president of regional operations.

Stroemel will begin in his new role on February 8.
