Trent Thompson, director of the parks department; Gary Shoemaker, parks superintendent; and Patrol Officer Joni Abney with the Aurora Police Department, checked a vehicle a driver left stuck in the mud in a closed area of Baldwin Park. Officials got word of the alleged trespassing early on Wednesday. Abney summoned a wrecker to tow the vehicle and impounded the 1992 blue, Chevy pickup. By impounding the vehicle, the owner will have to pay a visit to local police officials and pay the tow bill before getting the vehicle back. Thompson explained that while the area is fenced and gated, trespassing “happens more times than not.” Officials were checking to see if charges of trespassing on railroad property would also apply in this case. A police spokesman said the license on the truck checked to a Louise Holder.
