Residents of Lawrence County can vote for representatives to the local University of Missouri Extension Council in person from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., January 19 through 22 at the Extension Center in the county courthouse in Mt. Vernon.
Anyone who is a registered voter in the county is eligible to cast a ballot.
For the purpose of the Extension Council election, the county is divided into five districts based on township lines. Candidates for positions on the council are as follows:
• District 1 – (Red Oak, Green, Lincoln and Ozark townships) Scott Hill and Linda McCann, both of Miller.
• District 2 – (Vineyard, Mt. Pleasant and Pierce townships) Johnny Spencer, Stotts City and Linda Jelinek, Monett.
• District 3 – (Mt. Vernon and Turnback townships) Kristy Sivils, Cortney Hurn and Louis Woody, all of Mt. Vernon.
• District 4 – (Buck Prairie and Aurora townships) Kay Lynn Pennell, Verona, and Ed Dingman, Aurora.
• District 5 – (Spring River, Freistatt and Hoberg townships) Chris Losack, Verona and Joe Ruscha, Aurora.
