Aurora, Mo. -

After reviewing the final two candidates for city manager, the general consensus of the Aurora City Council was that neither candidate would be the right fit for the City of Aurora, according to the minutes of the closed session on February 2.
Councilman Dan Broyles moved to remove Eric Strahl and Mike Hayslip from consideration and refer the process back to the city manager search committee.
Councilman Steve Kahre seconded the motion. The motion passed with councilmen Broyles, Kahre, Mike Bloss, Doyle Ferguson and David Price voting “aye.”
Hayslip, who is serving in a similar position at Odessa, indicated this week that he had removed his name following the interview process on Friday, January 29.
City Clerk Kathie Needham said the job is posted again on various Websites again to solicit new resumes through February 19. She has given copies of all resumes  from people in the original search who are still available back to the search committee.
Current plans call for the committee to meet again the third week of February to regroup, reported Needham.
