As part of Make Someone Smile Week, an effort sponsored by Teleflora, staff members at Aurora Greenhouses and Floral delivered a total of 48 Be Happy Mugs this week.
The cheery floral arrangements were divided between Aurora Nursing Center and Ozarks Methodist Manor for use on individual tables in their dining rooms.
Lisa Ferguson, who owns the local floral business with her husband Doyle, said this is the third year for her to participate in Teleflora’s leading benevolent program.  Make A Smile Week extends from July 17 through 23.
Mears Floral of Springfield, a wholesaler serving area florists, donated the flowers for the bouquets, while Teleflora donated the mugs.
Ferguson, who serves on Teleflora’s regional board of the Lewis and Clark unit covering Missouri and into  parts of Illinois and Iowa, said 1,006 mugs were delivered in the Aurora, Springfield and Poplar Bluff areas this week.
Last year’s effort spanned over 200 cities in the U.S. and Canada with more than 2,000 florists donating their time for 33,000 bouquets.
