What it is The Aurora FFA Livestock Judging Team has an invitation to compete in the Royal Highland Show in Scotland and participate in the 2012 International Livestock Judging Tour. Cost is an estimated $25,000.
What prompted the invitation The team finished fourth overall at the national judging event. There, the team placed in the top nine in all five categories, and each member earned gold medals.
Who gets invitations Only the top livestock teams from FFA, 4-H and post-
secondary contests are invited.
Has the team earned significant honors This team is one of two livestock teams in the chapter’s 78-year history to win the prestigious Missouri Department of Agriculture Livestock Judging Contest and the only local team to have placed in the top three at the National Stockman Livestock Contest in Auburn, Indiana. The team is one of four locally to have earned a national gold rating from the National FFA Association.
Who is on the team Team members are Jonathan Bellis, Hannah Isaacson, Sami Johnson and Courtney Spencer. Adviser is Jim Spencer Jr.
