Conservation Grant
The Aurora Rural Fire Association has received a $2,400 grant from the Missouri Department of Conservation that allowed the purchase of a 2,100-gallon folding tank and 10 sets of wildland gear. In addition, the department secured a tanker truck, Jaws of Life and generators from surplus equipment.
Assistance to Fire Fighters Grant
This grant allowed for the purchase of 20 new sets of bunker gear, helmets and boots.
Chaney Family Grant
This $5,000 grant, available only in Barry County, will assist with a 20-foot-by-52-foot addition to Station No. 2 at Madry.

Other Projects
Fire fighters are raising funds to replace the 1967 pumper. Costs run about $17,000 to $30,000 for 1980s and 1990s models.

Volunteers
Anyone wanting to volunteer can call 678-2733 (station) or 440-0896 for information.
