Significant incidents from the past week at the Aurora Police Department include:
• Officers arrested Chance T. Brown on January 22 on an Aurora Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear with an original charge of resisting arrest. Brown also had a fugitive warrant for an out of state warrant from Van Zandt County, Texas, with a charge of possession of a controlled substance.
• On January 31, officers responded to the 200 block of West College for a domestic assault with weapons. Officers arrested Jorge L. Perez-Salas at the scene and warrants have been issued for armed criminal action and first degree domestic assault. Perez-Salas is also being held by U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement.
Officers are continuing their investigation of an incident in Marionville on January 29 that resulted in damage to two police cars (see one above). The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department requested assistance from local officers for a burglary in progress at Murfin’s Market. A suspect in a bucket truck rammed the cars and fled the scene. Anyone with information about the incident should notify the Aurora Police Department at 678-5025.
