On November 21, a resident of the 900 block of South Hudson reported his van was stolen from his residence. On November 22, the van was recovered in Greenfield. A suspect has been identified and the investigation is active.
On November 20, a resident of the 100 block of West Springfield reported a burglary. A suspect has been identified in the crime and an investigation is active.
On November 18, officers of the Aurora Police Department arrested and charged Courtney Lynnette Hopper (27) of Aurora with robbery in the second degree after she allegedly stole merchandise from Wal-Mart and assaulted store employees during the incident.
On November 21, officers of the Aurora Police Department arrested Joshua D. Smith (21) of Aurora for allegedly stealing from Wal-Mart.
On November 22, officers of the Aurora Police Department arrested Joshua D. Smith (21) of Aurora for trespassing at Wal-Mart.
The Aurora Police Department is investigating the theft of items from numerous vehicles throughout the city. Police have collected evidence and have identified some of the possible suspects. Residents are reminded not to leave valuables in their vehicles overnight and to lock their vehicles when they are left unattended.
