During the month of December several Aurora merchants reported burglaries at their businesses. The suspect(s) appeared to looking for money, however a few victims reported personal items and merchandise stolen.
A juvenile suspect was identified in at least one of the burglaries and the case has been forwarded to the Juvenile Court for action. Police are continuing to question additional witnesses and suspects.
Residents are reminded to lock their homes and vehicles and are asked not to leave valuables unattended in their vehicles. Police also ask residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity to them as soon as possible.
Officers focused on a You Drink, You Drive, You Lose campaign on December 7-13. The campaign was designed to crack down on those driving under the influence of alcohol and other drugs.
 During the effort, officers conducted 14 traffic stops resulting in 14 warnings or citations being issued. Of the 14 traffic stops, one driver was arrested for DWI, one for driving while revoked, one for  signal violation, one failure to yield, eight speed violations and three outstanding warrants.
