On March 28, Aurora officers arrested Thomas Carey on an Aurora warrant for stealing and false report. Carey is also being held on several warrants from other agencies. Carey has a Monett warrant for contempt of court, failure to comply, careless and imprudent driving, driving while revoked (twice) and possession of marijuana. Carey has a Barry County warrant for possession of a controlled substance. Carey has a Lawrence County warrant for forgery, driving while revoked, failure to appear on original charges of no insurance, no license plates, possession of plates of another and no seat belt. Carey is being held in Springfield on warrant for stealing.
On March 30, Jason Nordman was arrested for violation of an ex-parte order of protection. Nordman was cited and released.
On March 31, Aurora officers responded to a motor vehicle accident at Highways 60 and 39, which involved a semi tractor-trailer and a pickup truck. The driver of the pickup truck, James L. Smart, was ejected from the vehicle. Smart was taken by ambulance to Marionville, where he was then air lifted to St. John’s Trauma Center. On last contact, Smart was listed in good condition.
On April 3, Aurora officers responded to a motor vehicle accident in front of McDonald’s. A 1990 Chevrolet pickup, driven by Micky Lewis, rear-ended a 2006 Dodge Durango, driven by William Galvin of Arkansas. Three juveniles in the Dodge Durango were transported to St. John’s Hospital -- Aurora for treatment of possible injuries. A passenger in the Durango and both drivers were not injured.
