Officials with Marionville R-9 Schools have announced registration dates for students for the approaching the 2009-2010 school year.
Children who are five years of age before August 1, 2009 are eligible to attend kindergarten for the 2009-2010 school year. New students who will be in grades kindergarten through fifth need to register in the elementary school office from 9 to 11:30 a.m. or 1 to 3:00 p.m., July 29 through 31.
All new students, including those entering kindergarten, are asked to bring a birth certificate, Social Security number, proof of residency, an up-to-date immunization record, and a vision screening.
Middle school registration for students in sixth through eighth grade will be held on August 6 and 11. Seventh and eighth graders will register from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, August 6 in the resource room (old elementary library); while sixth graders are slotted for 6 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 11 in the gymnasium.
Registration dates for high school students will be spread over several days. New students in grades nine through twelve will register from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 12 to 1:30 p.m. on Monday, August 3. Seniors are scheduled from 9:30 to 11 a.m., with juniors to follow at 12 to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August fourth. Sophomores are slated from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 5.
Freshman orientation and registration is set to begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday, August 6 in the new high school commons area. Both parents and students are required to attend the orientation.
