Laughter and fun in the sun can be heard at the new Verona Public School playground, which is 95 percent complete, Verona Superintendent William Sweet said.
“It gives the kids a lot more to ways to occupy their time at recess,” he said.
The Verona elementary students started using the playground August 27, but a few more additions need to be completed, including installing the basketball goals and putting the roof on the pavilion.
Sweet said it was a group effort that made the playground a reality this quickly. He said through the help of the teachers and one school board member, the playground is a great addition to the school’s property and the students love facilities.
The school hired a firm from Monett to help with some of the installation, including pouring the concrete.
