Andrea Carden has joined the team at The Aurora Advertiser and will serve as the advertising manager.
She began her duties locally on October 19 and has already made contact with several local clients.
“Carden brings with here a some new ideas and offers a fresh look at local advertising needs,” noted Judy Dingman, publisher.
A native of Neosho, Carden attended Neosho High School, Northeast Oklahoma A&M College, Crowder College and Missouri Southern State University.
Advertising is not a new task for Carden. She has seven years experience in the newspaper industry, including advertising sales at the Miami News Record, the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal and, most recently, the Neosho Daily News.
In addition, she has five years of experience in the automotive industry, both as a salesperson and a finance and insurance manager.
Carden has a three-year-old daughter, Tatum, to occupy her time when away from the office. In addition, she sings with a classic/southern rock and country band. She is a member of the Neosho Rotary Club and anticipates moving that membership to the Aurora club.
“I enjoy being involved in the community and am looking forward to getting to know Aurora and everything that makes it a great small town,” said Carden.
“We are going to be making a lot of noticeable changes at The Aurora Advertiser to not only help our advertisers get their messages out, but also to be the best source for local news, sports and community information.”
Some of those changes include new deadlines for display advertising:
• 5 p.m. on Thursday for the Tuesday AA Shopper
• 9 a.m. on Wednesday for the Friday newspaper
(Classified deadlines have not changed.)
Local businesses and individuals need advertising in The Aurora Advertiser, the Friday publication, or the AA Shopper, the Wednesday publication, can contact her at 678-2115. (A new e-mail will be forthcoming.)
Established customers can still call Jewell Bagby or Jeannie Inmon, sales representatives, for their advertising needs, as well.
